Must've ju...Hey Floki, thanks for the comment. Must've just been a glitch that changed you to "unknown."

So, I'm not sure I agree TWD is a morality story. If anything, one of the most aggravating elements of it to me is that Rick is always proven right by deus ex machine no matter how far he strays from any concept of morality. Except for the fact that he's not eating people I don't really see what separates him from a lot of the "villains" he's faced. Remember when he just shot the guys from Philly point blank for no reason? Or shot the doctor for beating his wife? He kills people all the time for no reason or on flimsy pretexts and it doesn't really jive with any form of morality I'm familiar with, except maybe the law of the jungle.

I'm also not sure a) that the show is obliged to follow the comic books or b) that it even has. I mean, there was no CDC in the comic books, there was no Darryl or countless other characters, they didn't spend an eternity on the farm, etc. etc. They've certainly strayed from the comics. And in any adaptation you have to make choices about what to keep and what to lose and what new elements to put in. "There Will be Blood" only vaguely follows Sinclairs OIL! and I think it's a much better movie for the changes. The show has demonstrated both that it doesn't feel beholden to the source material (which is much better) and that it will slavishly return to the well for another character or situation when it wants to get the comic-loving base fired up again. That's one of the things I most despise about the show.

And you're absolutely right: ZN feels free to carve its own path and feel beholden to no one, as long as the choices are entertaining. TWD could stand to use a bit of that philosophy.Stephen Kozeniewskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15185600045044927669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7224206690870340098.post-3669110436413009862015-10-31T16:12:37.048-04:002015-10-31T16:12:37.048-04:00I dont know why it came up unknown, but also a Phi...I dont know why it came up unknown, but also a Philly Guy, ( Fishtown)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7224206690870340098.post-60355601451508801802015-10-31T16:10:18.476-04:002015-10-31T16:10:18.476-04:00They are entirely two different shows and have no ...They are entirely two different shows and have no connection what so ever. he main thing to remember is this the Walking Dead is a retelling of the comic and can not stray from the source material too much at its heart the walk dead is a morality story, Z nation is what it is a low budget tv show about the ZA and they can do whatever they want because they are a low budget tv show, I prefer the walking dead but Z nation is its own show and universe and I am ok with that, I do expect much from it so when I get good episodes that is greatAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7224206690870340098.post-79447153638944729802015-09-08T09:13:04.543-04:002015-09-08T09:13:04.543-04:00Well, thank you kindly, Apulia!
