Melinda stared at her lover’s laptop. Psychology and Truth by Rob Michaels. Her entire thesis, word for word. Three years of partnership and trust had led her to check Facebook on his computer and find his absentminded betrayal. A little digging uncovered her articles, plagiarized and accepted for publication, in his email. Has he ever loved me?
Melinda took the laptop into the kitchen. She prayed the pop of the vintage champagne Rob was saving for graduation wouldn’t wake him. The bubbles foamed through the keyboard, the screen wavered, and the kitchen went dark. Revenge is supposed to be sweet.
